Trailing Edge

Welcome our latest addition, Trailing Edge.

Trailing Edge is a rare 1970 Grumman aluminum sailing dinghy.

We purchased this great dink from a Great Lakes voyager. It is a strudy, yet lightweight dink. Very similar to the fiberglass sailing dinghy we had back in Florida (that MAL lost in the Gulf).

However, unlike the hefty nearly 200 pound fiberglass dinghy, this one weights a manageable 75 pounds.

A sailing dinghy is one of the great pleasures of cruising and a great training aid to boot. Sailing a dink, you get immediate feedback on sail trim and develop the confidence to sail in crowded quarters.

Ok, so we now have THREE tenders! A rollup inflatable, a hard bottom Caribe inflatable, and now an aluminum sailing dinghy. What are we going to do with all of these tenders? It remains to be seen if we can come up with a way to carry them all aboard Raggedy Edge, but if any have to go, it definitely will not be Trailing Edge.
